Would you buy a $399 WiFi Gal Tab?

Because it might be coming April 4th. Too little, too late in my opinion unless Sammy can come out of nowhere with a Honeycomb update.

nope, infact now that the xoom is out I would not consider the galaxy tab at all.
I have the tab and just got the xoom, night and day. I just got tired of all the crashes and force close and waiting on app's to load.

I would have if I hadn't bought the Xoom. I like the size of the tab. But it could use an upgrade to the software. And I love my xoom. Can't wait till some has a media market for tablets.

At $299 I'd buy one, IF it had GPS, 16gb built in memory, SD slot, Bluetooth keyboard support, etc. Almost $400 is asking too much at this point, and I really want one. The 7" screen is the perfect size for portability, reading, and web surfing on the go. Best yet my wife says the ipad is too big and heavy and wants a 7" Tab too, knew she was a keeper.

Not no, but hell no! Had the Moment. Have the Epic. Do you people really think you will EVER see a update? If so, you need to step away from the crack pipe! Just to get into the tablet game I bought a no name Archos 70 250 gig. Willing to bet it smokes your tabs. Very few force closes AND I have had 4 updates for bugs and such. Archos will have Gingerbread or Honeycomb long before a Samsung even remembers they put out a product call a Galaxy Tab.

I would buy it

Especially if it got an update to Gingerbread. Yes, it is really a big phone. But consider what it can already run. Google reader. Google books. Maps. Google docs. Music. And a larger screen might make it practical to write blog posts while commuting. For people who are getting a first tablet and love the form factor, the Galaxy Tab is the best choice.

Heck, I paid $699 for my Gal Tab, but got a $350 rebate back from Sprint. NEVER had a force close or any other issue; flawless performance on the job site since day one. Paid for itself on the 1st job sold, using it.

I love mine. Great tablet. What does the xoom do that is so great? Correct me if im wrong but they both do all the same things. I played with it on launch day. I wouldn't buy it cause its too big. When the wifi xoom comes out a 550 the tab will be 299 or less. That is a deal.

Ugh! I am sick to death about all this whining and moaning about lack of Honeycomb on the tablet! Seriously???? You know that as soon as Honeycomb is launched, people will be pissing in the wind about the NEXT upgrade and more "blazing hot fast as a Mo-Fo speed!"

Yeah, whatever. To me, it smacks of wankers drooling over cars that go 0-100 in 10 seconds, but they live in the suburbs where it takes 30 minutes to go 3 miles because of lack of cross streets and alleys to shoot into. Or, the nob who buys a tricked out Hummer, lives in the city, and the closest that custom grill cage gets to "the wilderness" is party night on Rush Street.

My current Gal-Tab works wonders and beats the crap out of both my Sony and Dell laptops. I no longer use either PC to check email or do surfing on the web; my tablet's "lousy, inferior" 2.2 Froyo out-clocks them 10 to 1.

Now that the Wi-Fi version of the tablet is set to launch, I'm picking up three of them for Summer/Fall birthday gifts for friends who don't need the 3G option that I require. None of us are gamers so that alleged Faster-Than-Lightspeed that Honeycomb is supposed to deliver has no impact on us. And being that I live in the heart of Chicago, I just need a truck that can get my from point A to B and still looks good with the occasional *ding* that always happens, living in an urban area.

Love my Galaxy Tab. Zero issues. Had it for a few days now. I paid $199. I hate tablets that are 10", way too big and defeat the purpose of a tablet in my opinion. At that size I'd prefer to use my laptop. Plus you can pretty much count on Android 2.3 from what Samsung has stated many times. And there are 2 ports of Android 3.0 in the works as well.

Thank You. I would hug you if I knew you in real life. All this "Galaxy Tab is dead" or "Galaxy Tab is old" is utter hogwash. It's what 5 months old? It's an amazing device and I 100 percent agree with all you said.

+1

I love my Tab, absolutely adore it. Yes 3.0 would be great but last I checked we can all still email, broswe the web, play games and watch movies/listen to music... So I don't know what the deal is.

Would you hug him if you paid 699?

Already have tmo tab, so wont buy this one.

Tab is very kool, if I need a large tab, I will use my 11" laptop. If I want a different, polished, beautiful system, I will buy a webOS opal tablet.

One android tab is enough for me, all I need from it, are firefox, doc to go, and mobile AP anyway. honeycobm makes no different to me.
