Would you give up your iPhone7 Plus for the U11?

I'm thinking about it. I'm a frequent switcher, but I went back to iPhone after just getting burnt out on Samsung and LG. I looked at the U11 and it seems cool, but I wonder if it's worth giving up my 7 Plus for. I could go back to Android, but I also want to see what Apple does with the iPhone 8 or whatever they call it. Anyone with an iPhone that switched or has both, let me know what your thoughts are on comparing them. Thanks

I have U11, Pixel XL, iPhone 7 plus and Moto G5 plus currently. It's definitely smoother than LG and Samsung phones if that's what you compared with iPhone. But iPhones are always one of the smoothest out there so there isn't any advantage with U11 on that front. It comes down to iOS vs Android which one do you prefer. If you choose Android then U11 is one of the best out there and you will be happy.

I gave up my 6s Plus for the U11. I grew bored of iOS and decided to hop back to Android. The U11 is an absolutely fantastic phone, although it's not without drawbacks (what phone is?), such as the lack of a headphone jack. I've been using Beats3 Bluetooth earbuds for the past few months and am extremely happy with them, so the lack of a headphone jack is not a dealbreaker for me; it is, however, a major dealbreaker for others. Besides, if I opted to remain on iOS, I highly doubt that the iPhone will ever include a headphone jack again, so it didn't really affect my decision. Will my return to Android be permanent? That remains to be seen. However, I'm extremely happy with the U11 and haven't found myself missing the iPhone.

I have both. Screen and colors seem to be better on the U11. Nothing compares to portrait mode on the 7 Plus, though. Otherwise, cameras are pretty similar (after 4 and a half days of using the U11.) I don't care about headphone jacks. Usonic earphones, however, are out of this world. I will see how if they work with my Bluewave Get when it arrives (bluetooth wireless headphone amplifier. The Usonics sound better than my Harman Kardon earbuds that came with the M8, and the headphone sound blows away the M8 HK edition. 7 Plus is just as loud with the dual speakers as the U11 (maybe a tad louder actually), but the U11 has much clearer audio from the Boom sound set up. I would not give up the 7 Plus. Battery life is just tremendous. Battery is fine on the U11 so far, but not quite up to 7 Plus. I like having both. iPhone 7 Plus for work; U11 for play. Pretty much a tie (except for portrait mode on 7 Plus, which is just stellar.)

Is portrait mode on the 7 just a blurred out back ground, or is there something else I'm missing?

It is blurred out but focuses on whatever is on the foreground and makes that look super sharp IMO. I love that feature.

Blurring the background is just a function of lowering the f stop on a camera. There is no dedicated aperture setting in pro mode, but I was able to do it using the close up or flower mode... Really wish they would add an aperture setting like a DSR camera...

A genuine question to those who switched from the iPhone - do you regret your decision?

I really like the U11 and think that it's a top-notch device. However, I'm beginning to question whether or not I made the right decision to switch. It has nothing at all to do with the phone, but rather with Android. I'm just so used to the way iOS operates that it's a bit of a daunting task to get reaccustomed to Android. Granted, I've only had 5 days with the U11, but, for some reason, I'm feeling really torn today.

I want to like Android again, I really do. Again, the U11 is an absolutely excellent device. Unfortunately, as bored as I am with iOS, it's the devil I know.

Stay with Android. You'll get more accustomed to Android and won't want to go back. Think about the notifications on iOS, they are absolutely terrible. No back button. The constantly reaching up to the left or double tapping the home button to get to buttons. The YouTube app that can't go backwards. The YouTube app that doesn't let you chose your video quality. Ugh, it's just terrible.

Of course it does. It's the first option on the list that pops up when you touch the three dots in the upper right hand corner (Menu).

If you really like your iPhone device, you can always wait to pull the trigger! See what the next iteration of Apple brings to the table, and then go from there. The U11 will have debuted months prior, so then you'll know if there are any bugs/how users like it/etc. Good luck!
