WOW... note 8 kills all competitors video recording

I'm happy for my 60FPS in FHD. Oh and MUCH better video stabilization .

Indeed. One of the major Reviewers also gave the Note8 the title of most complete camera, as it does so well in all areas even if it doesn't win every area it's damn close to it.

I have a Huawei Mate10 Pro on review, also quite good, Iuse say, you simply cannot buy a bad camera phone these days if you are buying a flagship.

Us, like must humans who use the camera on their phones go by real world reviews. Dxomark isn't for the everyday user hence it's irrelevant.
Well not irrelevant.. maybe to you.. but not to all :P.

I would venture to guess that less than one 1 billionth of 1% of phone buyers consult dxomark for their OPINION. Heck, it probably even less than that.

As I said you can speak for yourself but you simply can't speak for every individual. I think benchmarks are worthless but there are plenty out there that love them and do them on phones, PCs, etc.

Compares to other tests that show potential but maybe not the grades you, or your phone get.

My car could do a 6 second 1/4 mile if everyone else would get off if my cloud!

All perspective IMO. I own none of these phones nor am I looking to purchase one but if it were me I'd pick the Pixel 2 if I had to choose based on just these two video demonstrations. This purely from the perspective that my most likely concern is going to be jitter resulting from my own motion and not me filming in an environment prone to vibration. Not saying it will never happen, just saying that the majority of the time when I shoot video on my phone it's handheld in a steady environment or just me walking on solid ground, not where I'm filming from within a car or train.

To me in the first demo the Pixel 2 wins, as the movement of the buildings in the background is distracting in the other samples. I don't know if its rolling shutter jello effect or what but in the Note 8 sample and others its almost as if there's an earthquake going on and the buildings are swaying.

I have to agree with this. The most "complete camera." I have the Note 8 and Pixel XL 2 and currently sporting the XL for now due to the camera but when I think about it, while it takes amazing pictures, the Note 8 does as well and just feels well rounded. I think the only lure to keep using the Pixel XL is that I like pure storage (128GB and no need for MicroSD) and I like not having the duplicate Samsung apps or Bixby being in the way. That said, I may ultimately return to the Note 8 for the completeness of it.

Based on your posts, I think there’s a way for you to get the best of both worlds. Personally I use Nova Launcher, the Prime version, but you could also use another launcher. You could make the Note 8 look and act like the Pixel 2 XL or something else (I was just suggesting that because of your posts). I do think you’re making the right decision with the Note 8. I think it’s the best device out! I’ve never used the sequel to the Pixel, but I did use the first one for a short period. I also think the S Pen is not explained in enough detail by Samsung. I, myself, when I got my first Note, which was the 2, was getting ready to buy another phone because I didn’t use the S Pen. But after a friend showed me just something’s that it could do I ended up buying the Note 3 and ended up buying every Note, but the 5th because it didn’t have the sd card. The S Pen is so much more than a stylus, but unless you really dive into learning about it you’ll never know it’s capabilities. I would side load the original S Note app with Action Memo, Photo Note, Easy Chart, Idea Sketch, Scrapbook, etc. It will show off some amazing features that Samsung Notes can’t do because it’s just completely inferior to its predecessor.

This way you can get the S Pen, the complete phone, and create it how you like it and take from the Pixel with a Launcher (maybe even the Pixel Launcher, but I think a lot of people use Nova (I think it’s better), but it’s still can accomplish the same thing. It’s an idea. I hope it helps.
