Wow, Samsung/Google should be embarrassed!

Don't get me wrong, I love ICS and the Smart Features of this phone! BUT...the features that matters the most, making phone calls SUCKS! I feel like I'm back in the BB days of having to do a battery pull at least once a day (or more) just to make a phone call that is clear without Snap Krackle and Pop or pure Static or being muted. WTF!!! I have a strong suspicion it has to do with the NFC antenna being attached to the battery and needing to re-sync but I'm not sure. Anybody know if that would cause it or is the code for these radios just that bad?

I was actually pleasantly surprised when I got my gnex. Phone quality is amazing in comparison to my old dinc. of course the ear speaker was blown so it made it difficult to hear anyone. But even before that I constantly had to ask people to repeat what they said while on the phone. With my Gnex everything is much clearer and louder. I had to turn down the call volume on the first call I made.

Works flawlessly for me. Sorry you're having bad luck.

I have a coworker that likes to carry on about his Galaxy Nexus and gets all worked up whenever someone mentions a problem with their GN. He starts defending the phone and tells us that his is perfect and we don't know what we're talking about as there is nothing wrong with the GN.

The funny part, I catch him all the time trying to fix the same problems we have with our GN's (turning data off and on to get the data back, rebooting to fix his crappy phone connection, etc.) yet he still says "his works flawlessly" and all cell phones require that and has nothing to do with the GN but is caused by the Verizon Network.

I tell him my RAZR MAXX doesn't require any of that and he says I'm lying and just trying to justify purchasing my MAXX after already purchasing my GN (I purchased the MAXX because the GN had a ton of unacceptable problems).

Even the Verizon store reps here warned me against the GN when I went in to buy the MAXX saying they get a ton of GN returns due to problems that have not been fixed and the return rate is much higher than all the other phones.

Everyone seems to understand there are problems with the GN that need addressing yet there are a few of you holdouts that for some reason think it is just "bad luck". Are you sure you don't have your head in the sand like my buddy at work?

I must be the minority. True story: literally the first call I got, a friend said "Wow! Did you get a new phone!? You sound crystal clear! "
I came from a thunderbolt, fwiw.

But if you call customer service they will say they've never heard of anyone complaining about whatever problem you are having.

My girlfriends gnexus is awesome... But. If talking on a headset other person hears echo voice. In LTE/cdma mode it loses ALL network signal. Reboots when listening to Pandora. But other than that it's totally awesome

If it was mine I'd be throwing a fit to get it right but she just telks me "its not a big deal I can live with it" so I switched her to 3g and she's fine. Drives me crazy but it's not my phone. Meanwhile my DInc2 is perfect. Still.

I haven't had any issues with the call quality mine has been great on two GN. I have 3 close friends that have the same great experience as I do and 1 that had issues but was fixed by a replacement.

I have two GNs and there are 5 total amongst my immediate friends. We are all on the forums and know the major issues with this phone. None of us have had a major issue, and I am sorry to hear you have problems.
Remember that we are basically paying to Beta test the new software, so expect issues for awhile. I also realize that buying a phone that forces you to suffer through all the bugs is ridiculous. Having said that, you could try the new 4.0.4 radios that leaked. I personally see better radio performance and others have as well.
If not, then this might not be the phone for you.

No issues here as well. Phone works flawlessly in every way. Don't know what people are complaining about. I've had this phone since its opening day and am bare stock unrooted. Maybe all you complainers are running some rom that isn't mixing well with the phone?

If you're buying a Galaxy Nexus for any other reason than you want to mess around with it (root, rom, radios, volume hacks, etc), you bought the wrong phone.

Please speak for yourself! The majority of us have not experienced the problems you seem to have. I'm sorry your experience has been a poor one.

I find it simply laughable when people spout what a VZW rep has told them.

My Nexus works fine. It also has something no other phone has right now, ICS. By the time your Maxx receives BLURSCREAM, mine will be receiving Jelly Bean. :)

I had a nearly intolerable string of nightmares but half of them were related to VZW's horrible customer service. But all is good in ICS-land for me now. And my son and two of my friends have the GN and haven't had any issues whatsoever (excluding VZW's repeated system-wide data network crashes).

Definitely a couple minor bugs but nothing that wold make me return the device.

Came from a Droid Incredible 2 and it was a great phone but again with minor bugs here and there.

I also have been complimented on how loud and clear I am to people that I talk to when using the phone.

I have no major problems but the mic cutout and lack of docks is getting old. If a update doesn't arrive before the end of march I am going to get cranky.

How about Vanilla android and latest and greatest versions of android on top of that? neither of those require rooting or unlocking to be true, and being vanilla and being ics helping this phone out-perform any other cell phone on the market right now, even with its "mediocre" specs, and has been for the last 3 months now (Exception of the battery life, which has gotten better but isnt the best)

nowadays, a phone being on the top of the list for 3 months is almost unheard of. Sure, its only a matter of time before it's knocked down, but my point being people are enjoying this phone without rooting, unlocking, and modding it like crazy, and more than you probably think. Other than having the unofficial 4.0.4 rom I'm stock as well, and I can honestly tell you that even if i didnt update to the 4.0.4 rom the stock experience and the bugs I felt in 4.0.2 would not have been enough for me to consider anything else on the market at this point.

I think this is a ridiculous philosophy. Any phone should work well out of the box.
You should not *need* to root or rom any phone just to get it to function as normal.

To the OP, I have no issues with call quality. Some have said they hear an echo when I use my headset, but that's been with every phone I've owned including my Treo and WM phones.
I have never had to pull the battery to get a signal.
Some of the phones have well known signal issues, but there are plenty that do not.
