I have specific ringtones assigned to some contacts. When I receive a call when the phone is locked it plays the default ringtone for all contacts. it will only play the assigned tone when the call comes through when the phone is unlocked. How do I fix this? Thanks.

Yeah the same thing always happens to me..something I still don't get .. the ringtone is always random with a different song in my music

I found a work around for this problem the other day. I had that issue myself for a while. I made a ringtones folder on the SD Card, threw the tones that I made onto it and assigned them. It worked at first but then everyone was back to the default.

The way I fixed it was I just put the full songs onto the SD Card, where there is the "Media" folder already set up. Then I played the song on the stock music player. There is an option to make a ringtone there, so I chose that. It let me cut it down to what I wanted it to be in the first place. It then asked if I wanted to assign the ringtone to a specific contact. I did that, and I haven't had the problem since. It works, locked or unlocked. Give it a try, if you can.

So I am having same issue. Im a newby at this but where is this media folder that is already set up located at? How do I even save songs to my SD Card? Just wondering, and thank you

If you connect your phone to your computer using the usb cord provided, your phone should ask you what action to take, and you'll want to make sure it is set to "Disk Drive". If you aren't asked, then just make sure that it is set up by default to "Disk Drive". Then just wait a few and it should show on the computer. You'll probably have two things show up, first is the Verizon Drivers (I ignore those), but then you'll have the option to open up another drive (Mind you, I use Windows Vista so it might be different on another OS). If you view the folder, you'll see many subfolders, one of which should say "Media". It's no matter if it isn't there, you can just create a folder. Then just throw whatever music you want into whatever folder you designate, beit Media or otherwise, in the same way that you would put music on a thumbdrive.

You can also do this from the phone if you get a file manager.
I used Astro (Free) but upon Cory's recommendation (site admin) I paid for and use Root Explorer. Works great as well. Just another way to slice your bread...:)
