Was at a bar yesterday and reception for my moto x was 1-2 bars. However, I was browsing Facebook when the guy next to me said, "wait you can browse and your on at&t as well?" I told the guy "yes" and I was browsing effortlessly. He was baffled and needed to browse so he went to the doorway, which is 20 feet away, and browsed the internet. When he came back he was like wow... I can't believe you can browse and to think I updated to ios7 yesterday. So moto x win 1.

Motorola does have a reputation for solid radio's. I'm glad that's proving true in the real world with this device as well. I was amazed that my X has a signal inside the giant steel/concrete building that I work in, but it does and I love it :)

Bars don't mean much. Better to compare signal strength in settings.

My X has awesome signal strength. My wife's iPhone 4 was losing 3G signal in a place I had solid 4G reception. And in my office, compared to my Gnex where I had barely any signal at all, I've got super solid 4G signal with the X. I am able to get through a full work day and have at least 50% battery still. I'm definitely a believer in Moto's strong radio reputation.

my iphone 5 wasnt even close to my moto x reception quality, and i travel all over southern cali

Your right... But I was browsing and that guy with the iPhone 5 had to stand by the door to browse.

GSM phones such as which AT&T use dont penetrate steel/concrete buildings as well as cdma phones.Even tho her phone is a motorola(android) phone on AT&T and mine a Moto X on VZW. :)

I actually find the opposite the case. Any of the AT&T phones I've had better reception inside than any of my CDMA phones.

I also have had better indoor reception on GSM phones versus CDMA.
