Wondering if anyone else has had this potential issue. Only had my droid X few weeks now (new) and a couple times its just shut off by itself and wont turn back on unless I plug it in to charge. Checked the battery and last time it showed 60%. Wasn't sure if something Ive downloaded could be causing it. Any help is appreciated

Are you past your 30 days?

If you have the option available to you, try swapping batteries with someone and see if you still have the problem. If the problem stops you obviously have a bad battery; however, if the problem continues you'll want to get a replacement from Verizon - if you go to the store they're probably going to want to do a hard reset and see if the problem persists before they give you a new DX. If you are inside the 30 day window the replacement will be a brand new DX... if you are outside the 30 day window it'll probably be a "certified-used" DX that'll be sent to you via FedEx.

Thanks for the advice! Actually only had the phone 2 weeks so ill check the battery. Actually got the phone through android central so will probably have to contact the company they use.

Great advice gafly; I did the very same with a X that was constantly rebooting.
Verizon ended up sending me a replacement....works perfectly.
