XA1 Plus "supplying power" to nothing?

So, a few weeks ago, I started getting the notification "USB supplying power to attached device" while nothing is connected. When I plug the charger in, nothing happens until I switch the mode to charge device, it takes about 15-20 seconds then starts charging up. Worse is it also keeps this way when it's off. When it goes out of battery, it doesn't charge and only way to charge it up is to boot the phone plugged, and switch to charge device mode with that %1 charge phone gets.

I checked the port (though the angle is tricky I might not have seen it) , there isn't anything out of ordinary, did a lint cleanup however it doesn't seem to go away. I'm ordering isopropyl alcohol to see if cleaning the port with it works. Any recommendations?

So sorry your having issues with your mobile.
Have you tried restarting the phone with the USB charger cable plugged out?
Have you tried hard resetting your phone?

*Note backup your phone before hard reset*

Please let us know how you get on.

I have tried restarting with/without cable and safe mode. Doesn't go away that way. However in some magical way, it got fixed as it came. It disappeared. Now the phone charges once it's plugged in. Sorry for the guy who'll come here years later looking for an answer as I don't know how.

Wow that's amazing news. Did you update the phone at all? It may have been an OTA update or and update through Google play that could've fixed it.

Im delighted for you. Happy times.

No, not any updates I authorized to install as far as I know. There hasn't been updates for a long time.

You won't get any updates for that phone in so far as software ie the operating system. Its why I moved to the Xperia 10 as its now updated to Android 10 (few days ago). So sad because the XA1 is still a very good phone but from the small amount of usage of Android 10 the Snapdragon processor is definitely needed.
