XDA: OneUI closed beta for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (Snapdragon)

I think the problem is going to be, as it is on most betas, that people install it just to get it early, but don't actually beta test it. Then, when it's finally released, they complain that X, Y and Z were broken in the beta and still haven't been fixed. But did they report it? "No, why should they? Shouldn't Samsung catch that?" People don't understand what "beta test" means.

This is actually really nice. just remember if you have the December update you don't need Odin. just flash from SD Card or run in ADB.

I installed the One UI beta leak on my Note 8 as well. It's so much faster than it was on Oreo. Night mode looks great throughout the system. I'm glad the process didn't involve wiping data although I know I'll have to flash the official firmware once T-Mobile officially releases OneUI/Pie. Definitely wiped any urge I had to switch to a Note 9 haha.

I used the update.zip. I've notice bugs with Snapchat when typing but so far it's fine for me as my daily driver.

I just update from DLR5 to DLR6 using update.zip file from SD Card and no issues so far. I cleaned the cache before turn the phone off to boot into recovery after to start the update process.

I'm having the same bugs so far:
AR emojis, broken
s pen live selection, broken
Battery: seems normal after 3 days using it. Whereas, in standby It takes more time before it goes down of 100%
PowerAmp: doesn't stay playing in background after the screen turned off
Youtube Vanced: doesn't stay playing in background after the screen turned off. ** Fixed installing an old version.
Bixby Vision: doesn't work

Performing smoothly. A lot of bugs to fix but i almost can do everything as i used to do it before

Lagging a lil bit on lock screen while showing and hiding the notification panel

Loving full screen aspect (no nav bar) but i don't like the gestures. I think they are not intuitive. Hope Samsung improve them, like to use whole the bottom screen to move, open, slide etc from there and not only in just 3 different points. They can make the bottom gestures configurable too.
To get around that i installed a 3rd part app and disabled the nav bar. Now my phone can be managed with gestures only. It's a pretty good feeling

Loving the night mode!
