Xoom as a hot spot

Does anyone who has a xoom use it as a hot spot? Can you use the xoom as a hot spot if you have the 3 gb plan or do you need a 5 gb plan? If so can you have an android phone can you still use gps/navigation with an android phone that is not activated?

I haven't tried it, but i was told that it is available on the 3gb plan.

The Xoom works great as a hot spot, and the plan makes no difference at all. Whether you download data from the Xoom, or whatever device is connected, it all adds up towards your 3GB limit.

The only thing I notice is that my battery will drain a little quicker, but barely noticeable.

Is there a fee for using the hotspot? I believe there isn't but haven't tried just in case.

There is no additional fee, beyond what you are already paying for your data service.
