I was trying to tether my d1 one to my xoom and noticed that it was extremely slow. I had tried to download MM on wifi berfore making a run but was getting a download fail message. After a few hours I sent an email with my xoom tethered to my d1 and everything went through fine. I then noticed that monster madness had started downloading from the market and I let that finish the 15mb file. After trying to start the game there was another 300mb or so of data that needed to be downloaded. 5 minutes into that, the download slowed to a crawl and before it finished it stop for good. As of right now I can even go to the market or any website. But one strange thing is that with the droid disconnected the download speeds were normal. Is verizon on to me or is there another problem? Rebooting both devices did not help.

ThanxThanx

Check how much data you have used on your Droid this month, even though its unlimited I've heard they throttle your speeds once you reach 5GB as a type of insurance policy against potential tetherers.

I had a similar problem tethering Xoom to Droid. I followed the How To on these forums and kept getting the paired but not connected issue. After browsing around I managed to get it working on my rooted Droid. Here's what I did:
Run through the entire How To.
Download and install an updated apk for Wireless Tether for Root Users from http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/downloads/list
Unpair the devices
Setup Wireless Tether to use BT and make device discoverable, Start tethering
Find Droid from Xoom and pair again
Press the wrench next to Droid and turn on tethering

Not sure how much of this is dendent on the Wireless Tether root app, but several people seem to have to repair with the Droid each time

Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk, connected via Droid BT
