Xoom ICS & Root

I noticed the pop up saying i have the ICS update ready I do not want to go through the whole unroot and re-locking of the boot loader ( not sure if i have to relock to update) but def dont want to re setup everything

I am looking for a Stock update that's prerooted so all i have to do is drop it on an SD card and flash with CM i have now. Any ideas if or when this will be available or if it is going to become available?

Also I have heard nothing about rooting the Stock ICS

I am using the american WiFi Xoom

Just got the rooted stock ICS installed and am lovin' it!!! No lag at all, and I even like the stock browser better than Dolphin now! Had no problems at all with the install, after coming from Tiamat Moray. Just do the wipe/reset and all will be fine.

Make a nandroid in recovery just in case!

Do a wipe from inside your recovery always when switching roms and kernals.

Titanium backup root is the best app for backing up your apps and restoring them. I highly recommend the free or paid version.

I dont have a custom rom or kernel just a rooted neutered stock OS...


SO if your like me you don't have to i guess?

lol ya did that before updating worked 100% after I remembered to place it on an ad card and not the internal sd lol likening the ics for sure

Would you guys please help me?

I tried to root my LTE Xoom so I could try and get an ICS rom on it and failed miserably.

I was able to get it back to stock HRI39 using the post Phil Nickinson posted...

however, it is stuck at honeycomb 3.0 build HRI39 which was pre-4G radio and now I can't connect to Verizon

It downloaded update HRI66, and it went through the install process (restarting and all), but it is still at HRI39 and apparently will not update any further...

Somebody please help me... I'm pulling my hair out!

I would try to flash it all the way back to stock then let it update ota then do the root and from see what that does hope this helps...

Ok... UPDATE

I'm am completely rooted with CW recovery installed..

I just need a good flashable ICS rom for 4G LTE now!!

I have not seen one yet but have not been looking since mine is wifi I just use my phone e to tether for net... check over at xda

Team rogue has a really good cm9 kang with custom kernel. My Xoom has been running great. Mine is a wifi, but they say they have full lte support.

Team EOS has a build for all Xoom models as well. Ive been using their roms from the beginning, great stuff.
