xoom not seeing access point...

I have my captivate rooted, and have tethering working using tethering app. Long story short, my xoom is not seeing my captivate, while my ipad have no problem in doing so. Any suggestion? Thanks.

Does the Captivate use ad hoc or infrastured mode? I don't believe the Xoom can see ad hoc networks.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm not sure, I'm using barnacle and the other one is called "wireless tether" I think...

Wifi tether works better for me on my droid 2, wasn't able to see AP on my xoom with barnacle.

Unfortunately the Xoom won't do Ad Hoc. which stinks because i was hoping to tether it to my iPhone 4 using MiWi...

Try wireless teather 2.0.5 pre 14 it worked great on my Incredible or a gingerbread rom if there is one available because the built in on it does extremely well too.

okay, this stinks. hate to bring it up again, but my iPad, and all of my iPhones see it. Using my android phone to tether is one of the feature I brag about to my friends, but now this is just sux.

You might want to try using Bluetooth for Wifi Tether. I have the OG Droid which only supports ad hoc and it works fairly well.

Same issue for me. Will need to do some investigating to get this resolved. Gotta tether.
