I really want to buy the Xoom. I have the Ipad 2 and prefer Android for all the reasons I do not have to mention here. The main issue for me with Android is the lack of games compared to the Ipad. The Ipad has a ton of games and some especially cool HD role playing games that are not available on Android. Hopefully the games are coming soon. I am not talking about Angry Birds and some of the more common ones but instead games more like Dungeon Hunter 2 HD and Eternal Legend HD and Heroes Lore 3. It's not just Gameloft games either. Some of the better games are not made by Gameloft. I know Gameloft has an aversion toward the Android Market for some reason.

Honeycomb is simply a month or so old, iOS is 3+ years old. It just a matter of time. I expect the growth of Honeycomb apps to accelerate at the same rate the phone apps did. I think in the next 6 months, if not sooner there will be tons of new great looking apps available for Honeycomb.

Right now i am enjoying to speed and smooth UI along with a great Chrome mobile browser. Its amazing how easy it is to surf the web and enjoy content without having to switch in and out of apps just to find content ive seen on my desktop. I can actually see the same page on the Xoom and not waste time trying to dig up a video in a app or having to find it on Youtube.

I was a full on iPad 1 user and my wife still loves the one she has, for me there is no going back unless Apple revamps iOS to be usabke with features like email attachments, downloading files directly from the web, OTA updates and the cusomization aspects Honeycomb brings. The iPad looks more and more like a big ipod after using a full featured tablet OS.

If all you care about is games then what does it matter which you buy? Go iPad 2 if that's what you want. I dont' have my Xoom to game on... Thta's what a computer is for. My Xoom is so much more useful than just games.

Games are not all I care about. It's just that the gap is pretty big between the Ipad and the Xoom on the games available. Hopefully the gap will shorten over time.

I am going to end up with the Xoom anyway. The other advantages are more important.

I don't think the Xoom is a great gaming machine at this point--aside from casual games that is. I agree with Bossxiii that we won't see a lot of apps for about 6 months -- at least. More honeycomb tablets will be out then and slowly it will be more and more profitable to sell apps for the platform. I keep checking the featured tablet apps on the Android market and it barely changes from one week to the next.

I hate to say it, but the Xoom 2 (or whatever Motorola will call it) might be worth waiting for if you're a gamer. The OS will be more optimized, the screen will be brighter and better, and there will be more apps. Motorola has learned valuable lessons from the first Xoom and we'll likely see other big improvements as well.

Key word "featured" there are a lot of apps not getting featured and a lot of apps that just works well on honeycomb without getting an HD or tablet version

Thanks

I don't understand you people who play sorry mobile games on tiny screens. If want you to play videogames, that's what a ps3 and xbox 360 are for..

Just saying..

Not sure what kind of RPG's you are referring to on the Pad - but I'm playing Pocket Legends -- played first on Pad #1 -- did not bother loading it on my pad #2 -- but playing it on XOOM.

what do you think the nvidia chip in the xoom or other android tablets are for.............GAMES........that is one of the major reason.....ps3 and xbox 360 I will never own one...........because my computer does the same thing and much much more.....hardcore gaming..........ipad2 and other android tablets are hand held computer the last time I checked good for what.......games!!......that's was one of the big mistake I think google made by not having at least 10 to 20 tegra 2 optamized games at launch...I agree with BigCTM I am also looking out for the games as well

Not everyone can sit at home all the time...The last time I checked the PS3 and XBOX are not portable systems.
