Xoom wifi or iPad 2 - please help!?

Hello,

Please excuse the long post, but I could really use some advice.

I'm trying to decide between a Xoom wifi or an iPad 2 wifi. I've watched alot of the review comparisons, etc on YouTube and still can't decide lol.

I am 99% sure I'd get a wifi version of either one for financial reasons and also to avoid another monthly bill. My current phone is a Blackberry Torch thru AT&T. I would love to be able to Tether to my tablet, but I don't think that is possible... maybe I'm wrong but I'm not a super tech person who would know how without help.

My primary uses would be #1 Web browsing, Email. #2 Apps, Music, Movies.

But primarily web browsing and email.

I know the iPad has access to netflix, is the Xoom expected to have a netflix app soon as well?

Does the Xoom come with a word processing program (like Word) and a spreadsheet program like (Excel)?

Will the Xoom have capability to connect to a wif printer incase I needed to print something?

One other thing to note... I know the Blackberry Playbook is coming soon which I could tether to my phone which would be great because I don't have wifi at work, however I really don't think I like a 7" tablet, so right now I'm probably leaning against the Playbook and more towards a Xoom or iPad2.

To me you sound like someone who will get the most out of your purchase if you went with the ipad. Both tablets will do what you are wanting it to do, but to really take advantage of the xoom you have to be technically inclined and that doesn't sound like you.

I would have to agree with this statement. For your needs the iPad is probably the best choice. The Xoom can do lots of things an iPad can't, but it does require a bit of tach savvy to deal with.

Voicing previous sentiments probably the ipad 2. The Xoom you'll have to tweak. Also it is possible to tether your blackberry...just don't let att catch you.

I believe it's called BerryTether...or Ubertether.

I haven't used it since I left blackberry a few years ago.

If web browsing & email far out weight movies then go with the Xoom. The experience is 2nd to none.

XOOM. It has greater flexiblity, so yes they will be the a little learning curve. But don't let anybody fool you, the learning curve is not that steep and the benefits are well worth it.

You will also enjoy being able to obtain movies and music from a wider variety of sources.

I would say get the Xoom. Browser and email are great! The apps will come.

There aren't very many options for printing on the Xoom just yet. Ive had marginal results with cloud print. You will probably have the same results with the iPad.

Go to a BestBuy after the WiFi Xoom comes out and test drive both.

One thing for sure that will kick the iPad in the balls is you will be able to use micro-SD cards in the Xoom after its next software update. With this you get almost unlimited storage.
