Hey guys,

well I have been checking pc companion and on my phone for the 4.2.2 jellybean update. However I.have had no luck. I am currently on 4.1.2. I bought an unlocked xperia z that was a Telstra phone (but brand new) and use a vaya SIM card. I am in Australia. Does anyone know why it is taking such a long time to receive the update?

Thanks.in. Advance

I don't have that answer, however there may be an alternative. Hop over to XDA and see if any of those guys have a manual install of that update. Most of the time when someone gets an update they'll post it over there with manual install instructions.

Thanks for your example. I'm really new to these things so I have lots of questions lol. Is it voiding the warranty of the phone and are the updates reliable or will it restrict my phone in any way? Thanks again for a reply

It will be exactly the same as the ota. You can usually load it without any rooting or shenanigans, so warranty will remain in tact.

Yeah there's plenty of updates over there and root is not needed to use the flashtool I'm on tmobile with is still 4.1 and I'm running the newest 4.2 with the newest firmware update from yesterday the 244, no harm on warranty plus you can just as easy flash back again no root or unlocked bootloader needed
