Xperia Z1: What camera settings do you use?

Not sure which camera settings to use. Usually I just choose the auto settings in a phone, but I'm wondering if it's worth going with manual and choosing the full 20mp shots?

What settings give you guys the best results?

Just got the phone, I go with auto with the 8 megapixel since I don't understand all the other parameters of manual settings.

I wish there were a 20.7 megepixel automatic.

Mostly I go with manual and play around with the settings, not the quickest way, but I know after a while I'll get the hang of it
