Yahoo email not working on Samsung S8

Notification comes up saying e-mailed login failed.

I would guess that you haven't set it up properly or may have given some incorrect information. Can you login using a web browser? Are you using the Yahoo app or trying to add it to another email app? I use it with Gmail and have no problems. Also, their system could be down for some reason.

Since the data breach, Yahoo has been trying to move people away from third-party apps to its app because of supposedly better security. I've had this happen with the Windows 10 email and Samsung native apps. Very annoying because I want to choose which app to use. I've had to delete the account and then add it again.
