Yahoo/Gmail No Notifications

My Gf's Fascinate is not getting any mail notifications until she opens the app. My fascinate gets a notification at the top toolbar when I get a new email. Gmail and Yahoo doesn't get any notifications on her phone at all. Its set to sync at the smallest increment of time.

Any help?

When you are in the mail app, go to settings and make sure Notifications is checked.

For GMail, are you using the actual GMail app, or did you set it up using the "Email" icon?
