I received a the following message.
Your battery has been seriously overcharged.
Google Play recommends to up grade to the newest version.
If you don't upgrade your battery may consume faster and your system would fail completely.

Click on button to download from google play etc etc

I think this sounds like a load of rubbish/ Anyone else had this?

Welcome to the forums. Let's check something really quickly: If you go to Settings>Apps (or application Manager)>Swipe over to all apps>scroll down to Google Play Services. It should have the version number at the top. Could you type that number in please? Also, can you give the version number for Google Play as well?

Google play services version is 7.3.29
Google Play Store version 5.4.12
Today the battery is flat and it was fully charged yesterday and I've hardly used it.

I've been getting a lot of pop up ads which are a right pain!

I'm getting the same messages Wendy, looks like we're on the same version too. Should I follow the link or is it a con?
