Hey guys.

Sorry if this is a stupid/already answered question, but...

Just got my warranty replacement TBolt yesterday. Was very happy with it (looks brand new yay!) but the GPS seems to just be straight up not working. when i try to use google maps (go figure, needed to use it on THE WAY BACK FROM MAILING IN MY OLD TB), it says searching, and then "your current location is temporarily unavailable." Tried a bunch of times. Restarted phone.

Does anyone have any advice? About to go somewhere I need navigation for. Thanks Verizon!

have you made sure that you have the lastest ota update. other wise its possible you got a bad unit

More likely that your unit is not making a data connection. Does it show 3G or 4G if not call Verizon and they can walk you through to connect to 3G

If you can't get it resolved in tine for you needing the navigation go on your computer and print it off MapQuest

Hey guys. Thanks for your responses. I did chrome-to-phone myself directions just in case, but the gps finally locked more than half way there. I had a similar problem with my previous bolt, but it was resolved with the most recent OTA update (beginning of July I believe), and those notices never showed up; it was just really slow to find a gps signal. Between this one being worse than my previous one was pre-update, and those notices, I figured the gps was just dead or something haha.

According to the phone, there are no updates available. And I've been connecting to 3G and 4G successfully (although less to 4G in the city today than most days on my last one... that might be coincidence though). I'll play with it and maybe call Verizon this weekend.

Help. I have deleted things trying to save battery because tablet is wifi only and was always searching for 3g and network. Figured out that airplane mode works for this and the stuff I deleted is causing location services not to work. Any help on how to fix this? If I reboot this rooted tablet back to factory will those changes stay the same? I know the root stays but what about what I deleted. Thanks
