Im sorry if their is already a thread but I was wondering what your opinions would be for the droid x 2. I myself was just thinking how the physical buttons on the dx seem oldschool, though I prefer the physical buttons, some prolly would not. And the camera hump on the back of the dx I kind of like cause it keeps the phone from slipping out of my hand.

SO!... what are some things you would like to see on the next droid x 2?

Things I would like to see on a DROIDX2 if they ever made one:

1. A better quality Camera.
2. A better GPU
3. Complete absence of Blur.
4. Buttons that do not wiggle.

Other then that I love the phone.

I love my X exactly how it is but it would be awesome to see
1.) Higher quality camera
2.) Solid buttons
3.) Super amoled screen
4.) Front facing camera
5.) 4G capable

Hmm..I'd like to see:

1) a camera sensor with a better signal/noise ratio (I don't really care if it's higher resolution)

2) a dual-core CPU with built in underclocking when the raw compute cycles aren't needed (i.e. better efficiency)

3) no permanently installed apps (at least not of the variety that run themselves)

4) the option for stock android (that is, I'd like to see Blur become a series of widgets, rather than a full UI skin).

5) assuming 4g was prevalent at this time, I'd like to see 4g.

6) an HDMI port that isn't permanently crippled - I understand that app makers need the right to prevent DRMed material from playing over it...but they also need the choice to enable it if they should choose.

dont get me wrong

I got my dx the first of September and im still just as in love with this phone, no getting tired of it throughout my contract.

I was just curious what folks would like on the next model, I know that I will for sure purchase moto's next model because they hit it out of the park with the dx.

For myself,

1. 2 ghz processor

2. Buttons that don't wiggle (as one person put it)

3. The option to be able to pause during video recording.

4. A better camera

Time moves on, an as it does, technology changes and hopefully only gets better. I was just wondering, I owned a blackberry storm, and people voiced his or her opinions on that phone and what they wanted to see on the succeeding model, for example, people wanted a screen that didn'tuuwiggle so bad and was more responsive.

I am a newbie to the world of android. I don't know much about the hacking.part of android, maybe with time, I will learn about it. I know I read somewhere where moto locked down the droid x or something where you couldn't hack it, some kind of fuse or something.

  • Better quality camera sensor ... especially for low-light. This doesn't mean more megapixels. (compare to iphone pics)
  • Faster camera.
  • Better image stabilization of camera.
  • Higher screen resolution.
  • Better placement of external speaker ports.

I am torn on buttons. I had the EVO for 35 days and found I was always hitting the touch buttons by accident .. so sensitive. The physical buttons are not as 'sleek' but seem more functional (for me).

Then there are the normal stuff we all love:
  • Dual core chip
  • Increased battery (although I find the battery life awesome .. just don't make it worse)... I am using the moto extended battery.
  • No preloaded apps.
  • 4G
  • Stock android with Blur turned into optional widgets ... or be able to turn it off and run stock.

Overall .. I am really happy with my Dx... still having several froyo issues but a few resets seemed to have work out some of the bugs.

Most of these things will be on the next DroidX, I'm sure. If there are better processors it'll have one, if LTE is up and running it'll be capable, it'll have a front facing camera... Down side is it'll still have the crap we want to get rid of. It'll have some future version of Moto Blur, it'll have all of Verizon's bloat-ware.
