YouTube app and multitasking

One thing android does not do with the YouTube app is hold the spot you were last in if you leave the YouTube android application. Say I'm in a middle of watching a YouTube video and I get a call after the call I have to restart the video. Why can't I just leave off from where i was stopped at. I meany iPod can do it so I'm pretty sure android can. What are your views on this? I hope google updates the YouTube app soon to support this.
