Youtube music offline

I have seen forums where listening to uploaded pre purchased music on Youtube (non premium) can be a problem. Has anyone advice on this prior to my purchasing a Pixel 4a?

I can see how this question is a little different from the other thread -- asking specifically about if personally uploaded music to YouTube Music can be played offline without difficulty and without a Premium sub.

According to Google's support page, you're supposed to be able to do it: https://support.google.com/youtubemusic/answer/9716522?hl=en. "You can play uploaded songs in the background, ad-free and offline - even if you are not currently a YouTube Music Premium subscriber." However, I can't be 100% sure that people never have a glitch that prevents this from happening. It'd be interesting to see what everyone's experience is here.

Thanks for the advice, I put 2 different threads up due to really wanting the Google Pixel 4a however with Youtube music free buffering, worrying about listening to music whilst running! With a deal on at Curry's for £299 I have in fact decided to go with the Pixel 4a & hope that I overcome the music issues.
