Youtube videos no longer play on Chrome on Samsung

[AC Question]

Yesterday I was no longer able to play youtube videos through Chrome on my Samsung A5. when you press play just a black screen shows where the video should be. It WILL play via the Youtube app just not through Chrome. A few days ago I noticed sound wouldnt play through links but the videos would play at least however if I directly put it in youtube it would play fine. Then since yesterday nothing. tried everything I can think of please help!

Welcome to Android Central! I'm seeing that as well, but only on the mobile YouTube site. If I select Request Desktop Site for YouTube, then it works. Must be some glitch, either with Chrome or the YouTube mobile site.
