Bought a gtab online from Soot about a week ago. ...installed Froyo and Adobe flash, both from Viewsonic's website. ...they have two different links for Adobe flash player! After some trial and error I got the 10.1.120 if I remember right. ...then tried Fringe and it was a dismal failure,so uninstalled. ...now, here's the main problem ----Youtube just doesn't work!!! I'm told it's the wrong flash player version. ....can someone please help! I did try to install the flash player for Android from Adobe's website but they think my gtab is an Apple device and therefore the download is cancelled. ...a real dead-end situation. ...thanks

Adobe Flash 10.2 should come up in the market for you. If not, then instead of the stock browser, try installing something like Firefox or Opera mobile. I've had the problem of some websites thinking I was on the iPad when using the stock browser too.

Thank you, Circustravis. Regarding your first point - getting it from the "market" - the g-tab does not let you get into the Android Market. It only lets you shop in Handango, which does not have any Adobe Flash Player. Secondly, about browsers, I did install Dolphin HD on the g-tab (I use it on my Dell Streak as well) but even then, I just can't get a Flash Player outside of what Viewsonic provides through their website for the g-tab. I'm not good with computers and these kinds of things, and yet even I fail to understand why Viewsonic does not provide people like myself with the wherewithal to download and use the right kinds of applications!!

Fix g tablet

Guys

I got gtablet for my wife and it was not running flagship. I tried all the flash ROMe that are available out there. From my experience, the best one to install is Vega-n. I tried cyanogenmod and tnt and they both have many bugs. Installing is not as hard as you would imagine in there are clear instructions available at xda developers.com

Thank you to Circustravis and all for your suggestions. I called Viewsonic at their 866 number posted on their website, and was soon speaking to someone at the other end. he was quite helpful, and this is what he told me to do while we were on the phone: Uninstall the Adobe Flash Player I had, then go to feewarelovers.com and go to their April subsection, where Adobe Flash Player is mentioned ... open it and click on the fourth version down the list (it's a 10.2 with a 156 afterwards) and install it. Then he told me to set the Preferences (upper right hand corner) in my stock Web browser to "Desktop" instead of the default "Tablet", open YouTube and see if it works. Well, it did, and everything seems fine now. I can watch videos, etc on YouTube. I even tried it with the Dolphin HD browser that I had installed, and it works too! I pointed out to him that their website on the g-tab has two links to Adobe Flash Player, and neither one of them is the correct one!! By the way, I also asked him in the end if the g-tab was getting the Honeycomb,a nd he seemed to hem and haw a bit but said perhaps a couple of months down the road. Perhaps :-) Once again, thanks everyone!

I would be very surprised if Viewsonic releases an official Honeycomb build for the gtablet. But we can always hope!
