Have what most people would probably consider a stupid question but was wanting to upgrade to a larger SD and was wanting to make sure my z4 root was stored on my phone. I didn't want to lose it when I swapped to a different or if out would affect it at all

Use Root Explorer to copy the apk file to the phone's internal memory.

Assuming they have Z4root installed on their phone already, doesn't it install on the phone's internal memory by default?

Z4root doesn't have availability to "move to SD". But if they only downloaded it (from outside the market) and haven't installed it, then your instructions are correct.

I installed it from the market and am currently running it. So if I'm understanding correctly then I should be fine upgrading my SD. Thank you for the advice

If you copy all data from old card over to new card and place in device it should work like you never changed anything and if you want to backup your apks you can use MyBackup or ES File Explorer to back them up to SD Card folder.

Yes, you should be fine. I also suggest doing what the commenter right above suggests too. You should probably hook your phone up to a PC, copy all contents of the SD card you currently have to it, and then copy it all over to the new SD card just to ensure that you don't lose any data that other apps may use.

Are you switching from the 16GB to a 32GB SD? Do you mind me asking what you paid for the 32GB? I have considered doing this so I can completely retire my old iPod (I have about 16GB of music in my entire library) but I didn't wanted to spend another $80 (which is about the cheapest I found a 32GB microSD card when I looked).
