Zagg Bluetooth Keyboard has stopped working with Asus Memo Pad 7 LTE---broken by 5.1.1?

I have been using the ZAGGkeys Autofit Bluetooth keyboard with the ASUS Memo Pad 7 LTE. It has worked for several weeks. Now the keyboard will pair with the tablet, but doesn't do anything else. I noticed that I have Android 5.1.1, which seems to have problems, according to other sources. [Asus is apparently letting high school kids work their help chat.]

Is there a solution to this problem? Is it possible to downgrade the OS?
