Zenwatch keeps disconnecting from Note 4

Mine is fine with my Samsung S4. I did experience intermittent connectivity until I realized I had disabled the Google app. When I re-enabled and updated it, then no more connectivity issues.

I have connection issues with my Note 3. With the phone in my pocket, half the time I use Google on the watch, it comes back with disconnected. What's interesting is that the devices still seem paired. Happens so often I have almost stopped using Google now on the watch

Noticed it is saying offline. Technically it's not disconnected. The phone has a strong wifi signal so it's not that.

2 days Asus zenwatch and Droid Turbo about a week when gorilla glass broke on Droid Maxx on it's own - never dropped.
negating early issues of disconnected as the android wear manager had an update and Zenwatch once connected long enough to download it's update. reset the watch was done by the update, and finally got connected but android wear was showing "connecting..." while I think it was connected. Walked from one building with both attached to the body and into another wifi signal, disconnected then shown on watch. reset watch as have done in the past to reconnect and it does. The BT settings in the phone seem to be over ridden by the android wear app doing the control. Now after that second reset, walking back and forth jumping wifi's and defeating a blue tooth power saving feature, has stayed connected for a hour, longest since owned. Hope that is all I needed to enjoy this piece of art and technology!

Same problem with Note 4. I had a gear Live which never disconnected. I have factory reset both the phone and the watch but the problem persists. There seems to be a design problem with the Asus watch.

I had the same problem and sorted it out by deleting S Health, Zenwatch Music and other watch face or face making apps the restarted both. Didn't have to do factory reset or re-pair devices. Didn't have enough time to delete them one at a time, so not sure which one was the culprit. Maybe someone else can be more patient and find out.

Does anyone NOT have this problem. I am deciding if I am going to do a warrenty exchange on my note 4, but AT&T wants to reformat my device first, and see if that helps, and I really don't want to go through the whole reloading of all my apps thing twice, if it isn't gonna make a difference.

My device also cuts off the the connection to my car seemingly at random also. The interesting part is that I noticed it seems to cut off when any other antena is running, like when on a call, my Bluetooth cuts off. Or when I turn off the car and the phone is disconnecting from the bluetooth (or reconnecting when I turn on the car) it seems to drop the connection to my watch.

Is this typical or should I be looking at a replacement.

Note 3.. No issues before lollipop update on my phone...now I get disconnects all the time. Can't figure it out but rebooting the watch fixes it.funny thing is my watch sometimes hangs on reboot, so I try to avoid it. Once I had the watch search for Bluetooth devices and that fixed it, but that trick worked only once. Kind of annoying.

I cannot get my Note 2 to pair. I have paired my phone with many devices, so I know the phone works well. The Zen Watch came, I followed the instructions, when they saw each other I got one pop-up on the phone and one on the watch. My first attempt I touched the checkmark on the watch first then OK on the phone. The phone took a couple seconds and said "paired". The Zen said wait a minute, a blue circle for almost two minutes and it finally said "paired" but it doesn't show in the list and the manager on my phone says it can't find the watch (even though the Bluetooth screen says they are paired). I have reset the phone three times. I have "unpaired" the phone 5 or 6 times, can't unpair the watch because it never shows up. I was hoping a firmware update would fix it but the docs say the devices have to be paired to update the watch. The watch seems to work independently, but it has the wrong time and date, I assume because it wants to sync with my phone and the internet. Any one have any ideas?

p.s. the website lets me download firmware version 5.0.1 and my watch, which came today, is already loaded with 5.0.2 and the About screen also lists it as "Disconnected"

Hey guys,

I've been having the same issue as you since last night. I just did a factory reset and paired the Zenwatch with my Note 4 via the Android Wear app itself and made sure it was "Trusted Device"

Hope it helps.

Had various BT issues when my Note 4 was new. Samsung re-loaded the software for me (at Bestbuy). No problems since except the music skipping if screen was not 'always on' (any app from Playstore that does this).

Still disconnects a lot from my Note 4. Since the Samsung Fit does not at the same place I think the Zen has a more limited range; less than 20 ft. clear distance.

Samsung gear fit had the most exceptional bt range - I got the gear s but am thinking of returning it for the Zen watch.

Gear s vs zenwatch

Samsung gear fit had the most exceptional bt range - but since I lost it I got the gear s... Which I'm not enjoying. I am thinking of returning it for the Zen watch.

Re: Gear s vs zenwatch

I must say... and I hate this answer, but its the truth... I took my Note 4 to the ATT device center last thursday. It had been connecting and disconnecting a lot, a couple times an hour that day. I got tired of it, so I took the plunge... they plug in the phone and zap it clean... I mean clean. They claim that it is rewriting the original rom, not just deleting the data partition like a factory reset would do.

It worked. So far, I have only had 1 or 2 disconnect moments in the last 5 days. ... they are going to happen occasionally after all. They said if it continued that I would be eligible for a device replacement under warranty. However, this "deep flash" seemed to have done the trick. The device has never been smoother, but of course that could also be a placebo effect from having a clean... really clean device. It was never too slow, but now it flies.
