First time poster.
I have the Dev edition on TMobile. I happen to love the Zoe highlight feature. When you have an active 2 year old, taking lots of Zoes and having the software create pretty slick highlight videos for you at the end of the day is so nice. And I have to say in most instances the software does a pretty amazing job.
That being said, I want more! Does anyone know how to contact the HTC Devs to make suggestions? I am going to try to list my ideas, but if anyone else has suggestions as well and I figure out who to send it to, I'll be happy to batch it all up and send it on as well.
Anyway, here goes:
! Bug: I think this is known, but the select content option when creating a highlight only seems to work half way. Items you have deselected still appear in the highlight video. Items you have selected appear to be a little more promiment, although I can't be sure if it's just random selection.
* More themes: The six we have are great, but I am already anxious to get some new ones.
* Saving the "configuration": It seems to me that highlights are created on the fly and not "saved" as full videos per se. Maybe there's a configuration under the hood that the software uses to generate highlights on the fly?? It would be nice to save the "configuration", if you will, without actually saving the video. Maybe I am wrong, but I am just guessing here since once you shuffle the content it creates a new highlight instantaneously. Sometimes I would like to have saved the prior iteration off (without saving the video) in order to go back to it.
* Separate filters and music: For now, the music and filters are tied together. What might the One provide for use if we were able to select them separately?
* A slider to apply "weighting" to stills vs. videos: Some of the themes favor still pictures over video (Zoes) and vice versa. I know that the beauty of this software is that it's mostly hands off, but why not put a nice little slider in there to tell the software to focus more on one or the other when creating a highlight, regardless of theme. Furthermore, if we could tell it not to use random stills selected from Zoes (or maybe only use stills we have captured) that would be nice too, because it doesn't always do a great job of selecting a good still.
* Sometimes the software will select a Zoe and then zoom into it further during a highlight - if you have purposefully shot the Zoe with the subject near the edge of the screen, it can potentially cut it out by zooming in on the other side of the screen. Conversely, if it actually pick the side where your subject is shot, it makes for a nice effect. However, it would be nice to provide a way to tell the software not to do this or perhaps be able to say where you want it to do the zooming.
* Customized themes: Along the lines of separated filters and music, allow us to select our own music! Again, I realize the beauty of the software is the hands off simplicity of it, so here's an idea. We pick a song from our library and the software will preview the song for us. Then, it asks us to tap on the screen during playback (like to the beat or something) and comes up with a way to create cue points to cut scenes from where we tapped on the song.
I'm sure I have more thoughts and can add to this as they come. I would love to hear feedback and any additional stuff I haven't thought of yet!
