zooming the eris camera

I know this must be a dumb question but did a search and didn't see anything on this yet. Is there some way to zoom the camera? I was trying to show off the camera to some people in my office, but I couldn't figure out how to do it. I just got the phone last night and have been really disappointed with the browsers that I have tried up until now. (stock browser, dolphin & Opera)
We concluded that you had to use your feet to "zoom." i.e. moving closer to the object you are taking a picture of.

while aiming hit menu>zoom(spyglass)>then use the slider

you can also while it is in camera mode, lightly slide your finger from the top to bottom (or bottom to top) of the screen. This brings up the zoom slider.
