Has anyone bought the Trexcell 1700mAh battery?

Just curious how it performs compared to standard.

    Thanks for any input!

Check this out. This guy set out to test cell phone batteries against their advertised mAh ratings. He found that OEM batteries were very true to their ratings - within a few percentage points off - while the aftermarket batteries were not. In some cases the aftermarket batteries cost twice as much, advertised hundreds of mAh higher and yet delivered less than the OEMs. And the fake OEMs were even worse.

So for example the Nexus 1 came with an OEM battery rated at 1400 mAh. It actually delivered 1357 mAh, or 97% of what it claimed. It cost $25. Meanwhile Seidio offered a battery of the same size rated at 1600 mAh for $50. But it only delivered 1305 mAh or 82% of advertised. So that's double the price for a lie and slightly worse performance. Busted!

You can look through that chart and see very similar results. I guess it makes sense. If the OEMs could get more power out of the same size battery, why wouldn't they? I don't know anything about Trexcell, but based on these findings I'd be skeptical when someone else claims to be able to get more juice out of the same size battery.

I just bought these: Amazon.com: Trexcell HTC Thunderbolt 4G 2x1700mah Battery + Charger (Also compatible with MyTouch 4G): Cell Phones & Accessories

So far the battery life is not good. I have been off the charger for 2.5 hours and am down to 43% with normal usage. I will let this battery drain then switch to the OEM battery and do a comparison.
If it is a big difference in operating time, these will be going back.

Ouch, but thanks for letting us know. Seriously mine have been great. Maybe try those next.

I'm not affiliated, got this link from a member of the forums, just a happy customer, so I try to help others save money.

You can get 3 1500's and a wall charger for $12 bux. I can't tell the diff between them and the stock battery.
