[RADIO] The Obligatory Thunderbolt Radio Thread - xda-developers

first radio on this list is the MR1 OTA radio, works with the stock froyo and most froyo roms (except the new ones that run on mr2x radios).

*******
BTW, those MR2 and mr2.5 radios should work on your phone. Not sure what you did, but those radios won't work with stock rom or the original series of froyo roms for tbolt. They will only work with GB sense roms and the newest Froyo Roms, as well as certain versions of Aosp roms such as cm7.

I'm stock froyo. Is that y is not working ? I did notice the file sizes are 24 and 25 MB. Is that the right size ?,

MR2 radios don't work with stock froyo.
You can go back to mr1 radio, or you can load a ROM that works with mr2, whichever you prefer.
Check md5 for radios to make sure they're complete.

http://forum.androidcentral.com/thu...7-guide-upgrade-gb-sense-rom-radio-froyo.html
That instructs you to get gb ROM and radio.

MR2 and MR2.5 Radios will work with: Gingerbread Sense roms, Certain Froyo Roms that say they work with MR2 radios, the Newer Versions of CM7, and other AOSP roms that say they work with MR2.

I flashed MR2.5 first then removed and then Flashed MR2.5. Neither one of them worked

You flashed the same version twice??? I'm sure you flashed MR2 one of those times... ok.

First, what ROM are you using??? Next we will try to figure out if you put the correct radio on my device... there are Froyo versions and there are Gingerbread versions of the radios... but we need to know what ROM you have on your device.

Oh ok. Maybe I got confused because I remember reading somewhere that MR2.5 was now available for froyo roms.

Yes, I guess ROM Manager, if that is what you were using.... if that is the case just reload your backup file.

Nandroid backups do not save your radio.

OG, you have 2 choices. You can stay on your stock froyo rom, and flash one of those 4 radios from the obligatory radio thread. This will keep you on rooted stock froyo, and will add a stock froyo compatible radio.

Or, you can leave the MR2.5 radio on your phone, and flash GB Sense rom or a froyo rom that is compatible with MR2.x radios - Flyweight is one of these, i'm not sure what other ones work with mr2.5, you'll have to read about each rom if that's the route you want to go.

If you like HTC Sense you might think about one of Das BAMF versions like RC4... it has Sense 3.0.

If you want stock Android you might think about CM7 RC1.2.

Any of the RC version mean they are Release Candidates... and not full releases, meaning they are under development... I've had both the two I mentioned above and they both work... Das BAMF 2.1 is pretty good too (again that has HTC's Sense, but this is with Sense 2.1).
