So I rooted my phone a bit back and went with the Gingervitis and the Chingy leaked radio. Now I decided to try the Gingerbean one. So I made a back up, flashed a new rom. Do i need to flash the new radio again?

Since you are already running a GB-compatible radio there is no need to flash another radio (assuming you're happy with your current radio).

In the ROMing world, the radio is separate from the ROM, unless you're loading the complete RUU.
