Anyone see anything suspect? Normally with my extended battery I can be at 70% at the end of the day( the time the screenshots pictured were taken). For he last few days it has been burning through the battery. The battery temp is currently 109*.

From my Perry Mason detective skills, it seems the issue is only an issue when the wifi is active.....

Thoughts.... stock kernel, or custom kernel??? What does your list of apps in the battery stats show... Settings > About phone > Battery > Battery use... what does that look like??? Sounds like something is making your processor run a lot... how about a list of apps???

And you've never had this issue before... or have you???

I'm using 1.11 and 3++ kernel... yesterday, with Wifi on, 14.5 hours later I was at 77% battery life.

That's what I am running, am your results are similar to what I used to experience.

Ill run it through tomorrow, and see how it goes.

Here's today's data. No phone calls all day and 2 texts. Why is DIALER using up so much? Again, I have an extended battery, and even with the other BAMF rom's, I would still be above 60-70% by this time when the last screenshot was taken. Why is it awake so much?

I'm using the same rom. I sync everything and use push. The one time I've had the phone get hot like that it was because the server went down at my work email and phone kept trying to sync. It got very hot so I put it in airplane mode and did a battery pull. Problem went away when server came back.

Just to rule out a short circuit or some mechanical or battery problem I would change to stock battery if you still have it and shut off all the sync for 24 hours. See what happens. If phone runs cool and battery life improves look for sync issues. Add sync one thing at a time and see if you can find offender.

I was wondering if the work email could be an offender. Earlier this week, they were having hardware issues, but they said it was fixed by Tuesday.

I work in the center of a large Hospital, so getting cell service is a waste of time. Even my LG Dare would be almost dead after one day in this place, and its battery would last 2 weeks with heavy use.

If you can try shutting of push to work email and see what happens?

I don't have my work email through the phone, they don't support Android, just iPhone and mostly blackberry.

When I go to the wireless screen, it shows it is trying to get IP address, then disconnecting, and repeating over and over.

I think I found my problem, I called the no-help desk, and they are looking into it.

This is the same place that has Internet Explorer v6.0 because of "security." NO websites work with this antique crap browser. I think a 3 year old could hack into this system.

Grrr, bad day :)

I have been using BAMF Forever 1.10 for months now with the kernel that comes with it. After hearing about the 3+ +, I flashed it last night. I currently have 90% battery remaining after 6 hours when normally I have about 65-70% at this time. And the phone runs like a champ on this kernel where it was laggy before. I just fell in love with this phone all over again!

Well, I might have fixed the problem, I will update Monday evening if it is fixed.

Turns out the "Guest wireless" that I connect to during the day has ran out of IPs (1000 IPs taken) and all of the devices have no IP to connect to. With this happening, the phone constantly scans looking for a IP to grab. With this scanning, the phone is trying to get 4G/3G since it can't find wireless, a process that goes on all day, warming up the phone and battery, and pissing me off.

That would explain why the graphs posted above show it leveling out when it is on VZW's network.

They just deleted IPs this afternoon, so Monday I will have a fresh start to see if that is the issue.

It was a bad time to flash a new ROM last weekend, when this issue started on Monday, I was thinking what I changed last, and blaming that. Sorry BAMF guys :-*

While barely using your phone on wifi sure. Not much internet etc. Stock will give the same battery life with those circumstances.

That 3++ kernel is solid but it isn't magical by any means.
