When I try to install ADB I get an error message saying "Java SE Development Kit (JDK) not found." even though I installed "Java SE 6 update 24" from the link it gave me. Any ideas as to what the problem could be? Is there something additional I need to install? I didn't expect to have so much trouble so early on in the rooting process...

it would really help out if you listed what machine's specs that you're working on.

Java is automatically downloaded, installed, and updated on all Apples.
Ubuntu has is a bit trickier process.
Windows Java is downloaded from Sun's website Download Free Java Software

you can verify your java install at this site Verify Java Version

Java for 64-bit processors is saved in a different location on Windows than it's 32-bit brother, i believe.
