That's awesome. Could I buy it off Amazon, and then have it activated and stuff at Verizon for no charge? And how would things work if something went wrong with the phone? Do I talk to Amazon or Verizon?
If I where you I would go to best buy and do a price match. Since you'll be in the store when they set it up. If you where to do that then you would go to best buy with any problems, plus best buy's return policy is a lot better.

I'm pretty impartial, I had the TB for about 5-6 weeks and got it on launch day. It is a solid phone, very fast, great processor and available RAM. However to get the most out of it I rooted and installed Das Bamf ROM, if you get the TB go with their ROM it will blow you away. Now that said, the stock battery won't last unless you plan to keep it plugged in (your car, office). It just eats batteries too quickly, and I had issues with lockups, reboots other issues.

Charge, is also a great phone, but again (in my opinion) benefits as well from rooting, root/kernel/cwm package with Voodoo lagfix will greatly benefit you by simply changing the file system from rfs (samsug proprietary) to ext4 (in other Android phones) and speeds up internal processes. There is a kernel with OC/UV abilities and of course we have a AWESOME ROM from DroidXcon called Altered Beast which shows just how fast the Charge is. Charge has an awesome screen, great battery life.

Regarding battery life, I had and OEM extended battery on my ThunderBolt and I have an OEM extended battery on my Charge. Same type of use and abuse during the day, calls, email web. The charge is lasting well past what the ThunderBolt ever did for me.

I don't generally purchase the extended batteries for these phones. Mostly because I don't like the added weight and thickness they tend to add. But, the standard battery that came with Charge is far better than what HTC chose to put into the Thunderbolt.

The Thunderbolt is a typical HTC phone. It is a great idea. I do like Sense UI. But, no matter how you cut it, HTC underpowers the battery. I think they do it because of price and putting these things together as cheaply as possible. The problem is it ticks off some customers like me who will end up not going back to HTC.

Add in the Super AMOLED screen and Samsung at least at this point is light years ahead of HTC and Motorola.

Yeah, after having my Charge for a week and still being very happy with it, I don't really see much logic in picking the Thunderbolt over it unless you just really like HTC. It's got better battery life, a better screen, a smoother stock UI, a better gpu, and although the cpu is a year older, it keep up with and even beats the 8655 in many areas. The Snapdragon seems to handle an individual task just a bit more quickly, but the Hummingbird still seems to be the better multitasker. Samsung phones have great development support, and seem to have better recovery options to prevent a brick, not to mention their source code repository for the devs. Many of the Fascinate's problems appear to have been fixed, and with all the advertising VZW is throwing behind it, I would expect they will support it very well. Don't forget its the only one of the three LTE phones to get both the Droid branding, as well as BMX's seal of approval.

I honestly expect it to hold its own against the Bionic when that drops, unless the Moto manages to have a better screen than the other qHD's AND an unlocked bootloader. Even then, its looking like it won't be out until tiered data hits.

But all things considered, I would definitely recommend a Charge over everything else in VZW's line-up if you live in a 4g area.

I have a Thunderbolt. I have pretty much given up using it at this point in lieu of using my Charge.

No one brought this up but I want to mention one plus for the TB. The TB can do simultaneous voice and data even in 3G. This, for me, is a big deal.

I've had my Charge for about a week and really like it. Haven't tried a T'bolt, but have read a lot of owner feedback on various product review sites and forums that indicate it has some issues. I think that if you search this forum you'll find more people pleased with their Charge's and more people who have traded in their T'bolts.

Yes, I will agree with you on that, but some people are reporting that everything is amazing.

I have both the charge and the TB, and there are things of each that I like. The TB is fast and has a great solid construction feel, but the battery is worse than most. With that said the Charge has a much better screen and the battery life is pretty good for a smart phone. I am not crazy about touchwiz, but a launcher replacement is an easy fix. The Charge has a good feel in the hand and I like the weight of it. The plastic feel was something I thought would bother me, but after having it in my hand for a couple of days I really got used to it. The HDMI out is a bonus if you want to mirror what you are doing on your Charge (movies, and some of the games are fun). Over all both are good phones, but I am enjoying the Charge for now coming from a Incredible the Bolt was just not enough to keep me happy for the moment. My wife has my Bolt and she is happy with the bigger screen coming from my old Incredible. Bottom line is what works for you, but the charge has some backing and will just continue to get better with roms and mods.

I agree that the Charge has been getting better reviews, however, IMHO, if the Charge had come out before the TBolt, there would be people trading in the Charge for the TB also.

Possibly, but it seems that most people who are trading in the T'bolt are doing it because of frustration with the poor battery life and some of its issues (i.e. reboots, GPS, etc).

I had both the Thundebolt and now the Charge. I came from the Droid x. If someone could combine all of the good from the droid x with the thunderbolt with the charge what a phone that would be. Anyway I had issues with the thunderbolt as well, reboots, very poor noise cancellation, and the battery would last about 3 hours. Also the weight of the phone in the car dock would make it bounce so that looking at the GPS screen was quite annoying. Issues with the charge have been fewer. Some of those issues are as follows: When video recording every once in a while I get an error message that states "unable to record resolution not supported on this SD card". There is lag every once in a while but not too bothersome. I did bring it back to Verizon and they exchanged the phone now it only happens maybe once a day. Call quality is much better on the charge and the desk side charger comes with an extra battery and has a compartment to charge the extra battery as well. Over all I am happier with the Charge.

The charge has a much better battery - the tb could hardly make it through 4 hours. The screen is amazing on the charge. I do notice some lag between screens with touch wiz, but nothing big and nothing compared to the lag I had on the tb using data. I also like the feel of the charge in my hand and that it is light weight compared to the tb.

I have always loved htc phones, but something happened with the tb and it is just not the quality I expect from htc.

I got the TB. But, I like the feel, solid and quality. There is a nice heft to the phone. The screen looks really good actually, I constantly compare this to my Fascinate. I like the speaker volume, it is just loud enough for me. I love having the front camera, didn't have this on the Fascinate and that should have been included(IMHO). I have trouble with the physical buttons on the charge, just feels like it's wearing Bozo clown shoes. I really appreciate the capacitive buttons, I guess i got used to that using the Fascinate. The camera is really good, think that it is just as good as the Samsung. The speed of the phone is amazing. Honestly, I haven't rooted yet and I'm debating at this point. I really don't have the need right now, aside from the silly loaded bloatware and the multiple apps that get loaded when the phone boots up, there are a ton of apps running. I go a shut them down and gain 290+ MB of ram. I'm just a tad concerned about that on the Charge. The voice calls are really good, no complaints and when I'm talking to my wife and get bored, i just look for apps(Voice+Data). Sense just works, sometimes it lags and when there are many txt messages, that will slow down. When I loaded all my apps on the Fascinate, the phone would turn into a pig! But I have more on this TB and it just keeps going! I'm pleasantly surprised. I've read about the choppiness of the video when recording and I've seen a little, slightly worse than the Fascinate. Although, it will stall when playing the video back?! I'm not sure what's up with that. My battery will last between 6-14 hours depending on use. I of course did a calibration for the first few days and also bumped it. Maybe many people didn't do that and they are suffering because of it. Right now i'm not worried about battery, as i purchased 2 spares. I just swap them out and keep going. I have had issues when watching a high bitrate video file though. I downloaded it then played it and it was choppy, I tried it in the Fascinate, no choppiness, swapped cards and it still sucked, when the Fascinate just blew right through the video. I watch alot of movies so this bothered me. I downloaded Rockplayer from the market and it's fine now. As I've said, i'm debating whether to root or not, as the main reason for me would be for the themes. But, Sense has a built in manager(Scene/Skin personalization). Why isn't that built into Android to begin with?! It was in Windows Mobile?!! Oh well, regardless of that point I'm enjoying this phone. The Charge does have the SAmoled+ Screen though and that is a small seed of dissent for me. The Internet browsing is fast though, I mean FAST! I haven't even tried the 4G yet. Well, that's my take on the TB right now, I have a week left on my 14 days and I'm still trying it out.

HTC, has always under powered their phones. What I mean by that is they almost always use a smaller battery in them, than comparable phones on other carriers. The reason you have a better battery life on the Charge is because it has a larger battery.

I'm on my 6th day with the Charge and am not liking it. It has its plus points like HDMI out, the display just pops out at you, etc. But I don't like that its really wide(I have smaller hands and its hard for me to hold it and operate it w/one hand), has a noticeable lag and to me the call quality is pretty bad, even on speaker phone...very robotish.

I may give the TB a try. The battery is definitely an issue w/the TB but neither the Charge nor the TB will last you the whole day so either way you have to recharge it at some point. Since I have a desk job, I can keep the phone plugged in all day if need be so its not as much of an issue.

I had the TB first and now have the Charge and am very happy with the Charge. There is a HUGE difference in the battery life between the two - the tb has no battery and you will live glued to your charger all day.

The call quality on the charge seems the same as the TB which I think both are good. I do notice some lag switching between home screens on the Charge, but there is also lag with the TB. The TB may be a little less wide than the Charge, but it is HEAVY and feels like you are carrying a brick.

Both phones have their positives and negatives and both are good phones. Good luck with whatever you choose!

Battery twice as along and can see the phone in sunlight.

Don't like the on off on right side always hitting it when holding or adjusting volume on left.

CAN'T MAKE A CALL AND USE DATA AT THE SAME TIME!

Dropping 3 G data several times a day and have to restart to resume. VZ and I messed with settings too and after last update that was to fix this. LTE onoff app wont help that is built in to phone and it does not fix the issue.

Email client on 'auto push" uses an algorithm to PULL email. I min after most recent then if no new email it pings the server 5 min later and if no email it pings server 15 then 30 or something like that. Looking for email client like the bolt had so I can set it at 1 min.

Interface is terrible loaded lancherpro and love it better than sence.

    NO LED indicator light.

The width difference of the TB and charge is 0.22mm. I find it hard to believe anyone can "feel" that. The Charge is 0.1mm thinner and the TB is 0.36mm shorter. In my hands on with both the Charge did "feel" longer only because of the pointed bottom. The weight of the devices is the real difference, the TB does feel solid, but it is super heavy and the Charge is lighter and feels nice in the hand.

I'm waiting till the coupon at Costco gets close to expiring so I have a longer 90 days to wait for the Bionic.

I do miss sense and the kickstand By I'll get used to touch wiz and I did really use the kickstand much. But I do notice the camera is a lot slower to tak the picture.
