Hi does anyone know if the DNA is supposed to support simultaneous voice and data while on 3g network I know that it works with 4g my question is if it also works while on a 3g network.

I believe it does. The thunderbolt kicked that off and everything that I am finding says that most of the Android phones that run on LTE with VZW have the capability....now the iPhone 5 does not have that ability....

Oh so you are saying that you are going to be 3G only (no LTE into the equation at all)?

Not sure about that one since voice is 3G...

On Verizon voice is carried on 1xRTT, not 3G ( EVDO ). On gsm 3G systems voice can be carried on HSPA, and is usually carried at higher quality as well.

No it does not work. Talking on the phone and surfing the net does not work over the 3G network. But does work on the 4G network.

The DNA does not have a separate radios for CDMA and LTE. The Rezound does have a separate radios for CDMA and LTE, which is why turning off LTE helped the rezound save power. The integrated radios is one of the reasons we are seeing better battery life for the DNA.

The SGS3 does work with 3G and data, I just tested it out.

what do you mean you just tested with 3g and data?

while you were on 3g service, not 4g or wifi, you were able to browse internet while on a call? i am almost certain, it does not. i have never heard anyone say it does. i didnt own it long enough to tell.

I am on Sprint which is cdma, just like vzw.

Yes, I turned off 4g,had to reboot, turned off wifi, made a call to my voice mail, hit the home button and went to espn. Saw how badly the Steelers lost and laughed

Interesting, thanks. This is the very first I have heard of this on CDMA. Maybe I wasn't paying attention, because I swore I read that users could not do this with the GS3 on CDMA. Anyway thanks !

I just tried it myself on the Verizon GS3 and it works. WiFi off, 3G only. Made a call and searched Internet at same time.
