Why Not Wireless Emergency Alerts Capable?

Wondering why the DNA is not Wireless Emergency Alerts Capable? My old HTC Thunderbolt was... any ideas?

It is always funny when a bunch of phones all go off and alert at the office at the same time....

I got an amber alert the other day... Is that not in the same category as what you're referring to? If it is then the phone is capable of receiving them.

No, the amber alerts are something you sign up for, this is something like the Emergency Alert System on your TV...

You don't sign up for amber alerts.

Go to messages>settings. You'll see the emergency alerts menu there. You'll get emergency alerts in the messages app.

I was gonna say, I didn't sign up for it haha. I've also gotten severe storm warnings

All of verizons smart phones, starting with the droid x2, have the capability. Most people don't notice simply because the notifications are rare. (I got one related to the blizzard out east, because it started as an ice storm here in Chicago)
