Dropped it while getting out of the car, which I've done a few of times before with no damage. This time, it was ALL about the angle of impact. It was in one of those Shell/Holster combos from VZ. I was still able to use it thanks to the screen protector that kept the glass shards in place until my Asurion replacement came. No worries because I was experiencing shorter battery life the past 3 weeks so I guess it kinda worked out.

Hope mine won't be as suicidal. Need to be able to give this to the wife when the One Max or Nexus 5 arrives..... Aaand I probably just jinxed myself

If you're paranoid about damage like I am, get the ballistic SG case. it's ungodly thick (though, I like the way it grips), but I could probably chuck my phone at a brick wall and it'd be fine.

My brother in law got the ballistic case. He's a klutz so its perfect for him. LOL.
