GMAIL App acting weird

Last night when I went to check my email on the GMAIL app it wouldn't let me symptoms: screen was blinking, wouldn't let me pull up the menu bar, everytime I would try to go to the home screen to stop it from acting crazy it would restart the phone. Is anyone else having these issues recently? If so, anyone know how to fix it? I have reset the phone a couple of times, powered down, also have removed the battery and reboot and same symptoms. I have uninstalled any gmail updates, cleaned the cache, data etc and nothing is resolving this issue.

I did a Google search on this; it is the app/Google not your device (I have an HTC Inspire displaying the same exact symptoms). Apparently, Google is aware of the issue and is "working to get it resolved quickly".

Pretty odd. The Android Gmail app is pretty rock solid. I'm not a developer so I could not even guess what the core issue is. Sorry I don't have better new or a solution.

I deleted the app off my Razr, and am temporarily using the stock email. Yuck!!
