dinc2 no carrier = Ipod touch?

Would a dinc 2 or inc s without a carrier be comparable to a Ipod touch "
This is for a kid .Dont want him having a phone yet. Probably put him on a plan or unlock & get a prepaid sometime down the road.
I hate Apple!.

Probably close enough. As long as they had a Google account and were in range of WiFi they could download anything they wanted.

Of course, not all the games available for an iPod Touch are available for Android.

There is no reason a child can't live in both worlds. My son has an iPod Touch, but prefers Android for his phone. It's been that way since April 2010. He's got a Galaxy Nexus now.

There is a flashable zip that removes the files having to do with phone and data. It also kills the data at boot so it doesn't scan for a network signal essentially making your phone a media player and it gives a little better life too. Let me know and I'll upload it.

You could always just get a galaxy player if you don't want to get him a phone just yet. It's basically androids version of the ipod touch
