Is it safe to sell SIM card of HTC Incredible 2?

Hello, I am selling my Droid Incredible 2 on ebay or Craigslist. The phone has my Verizon SIM card in it. It has no use to me since my new phone already has a SIM card. Is it safe to sell the phone with the card? Does the SIM card contain data like contacts or my personal information? Can someone use the SIM card abroad to charge my Verizon account with the bill? I know little about what the SIM card does and have read conflicting info online about its importance. I've already done the "factory reset" from the phone Settings menu, not sure if that affects it. I do know that contacts can be stored on the SIM card but I honestly have no idea how to access them or clear them. Try doing a google search.

Hi Omnigaia, thanks for the reply but I've searched and my efforts were unsuccessful. that's why I came here and am hoping someone smarter than me might know
