How to disbale the txt help or whatever its called thatfills in your words

Loving the phone, but hating typing with the auto correct txt. I spell words right and it changes them to something else. WTF? example Homerun changed to Homer. Robb to Lobbie. Whipe to while. and I dont notice this until after i click send. Sorry if this has been asked already, but how do I disable this? Im new to android, coming from BB

Go to Settings > Language and Keyboard > Android Keyboard and then turn off quick fixes. This is on stock 2.1 so it might be different on sense, I'm not sure. It should still be in the same general place though, somewhere under settings and then keyboard.
