Droid Incredible Scratch Test

I wouldn't even think about trying this, LOL - I managed to scratch my Moto Droid only a few weeks into owning it. Said it couldn't be done, but it did.

Wrap that Incredible up! Protect it. LOL

Wow that was hard to watch! Thanks for the video and a little piece of mind!

yep they also said droid was scratch proof. well i have proof its not i have a couple dingers on my screen.

There appears to be some type of screen protector on the phone. If you look closely around the edges and you can see the edge of the film around the touch pad.

Or I could be wrong.

It looked like that to me too, especially on the bottom right.

That does look a little suspect actually. I suppose it could be the reflection off of the plastic. Seriously though, who would do that to their phone?

Except that, no matter the angle of his shot, the "reflection" doesn't change in the bottom right - almost looks like a protector is not completely flush down there - at least to me.

The Incredible does have a glass screen and we know from science that glass plates quite high on the Mohs hardness scale. There only a few things harder than glass...minerals, diamonds, and that's about it. Rub sand on the screen and you would be screwed. Knives and keys...nope. Good video though.

I took the back of a sharp knife across the screen of my storm a few times and nothing. I have not used a screen protector since I have had my storm and my brother and brother in law never use them on their iphone or droid. I don't think I'm gonna use one I really like the feel of the glass and not the plastic protector. Imo those tests stand up to what a normal phone will go through. Of course there is always someone that puts their phone through more and there is always the freak occurrence. I do think that a case that raises the screen slightly off the surface is good to stop sand and other grit from scratching the screen if placed upside down.

Yea, my bro had a droid in his hands for a week, scratched it. No way I'm letting the same thing happen to my incredible. Maybe we are just hard on phones up here in MT. Dirty up here I guess.

Wasn't much of a scratch test.
Drop coins on it? Why not throw tissues at it.
Show a scary knife then use the flat side?

Silly. Thus wasn't a scratch test at all. I can do a.video showing some scary objects next to a phone.

I'm going to take a video of my DI next to a pregnancy test with a pink "+" on it. Now THAT would be scary!

Gorrilla Glass and Tungsten Carbide dont mix!!

So...before you all beat me up about screen protection, it's already in transit, but I still need to use the phone.

I had my INC in my jacket pocket and reached in with my left hand. I accidentally let my tungsten carbide wedding ring rub against the screen ever so lightly...ugh!! 3 very light scratches near the bottom of the display!!

You can barely see them, but they might as well have neon lights around them from my perspective! I feel like a real dope. :o

Watch out for your rings, folks!
