Hit the power button, It will reboot again and you will see an icon in the middle with a triangle and "!". Then push Vol up and Power at the same time and you will see a menu with blue wording. I had moved all my apps back to my internal storage and only have like 98MBs left. I am guessing that isn't an issue but who knows.
What now?09-07-2011 03:52 PMLike 0 - Does anyone know if it is possible to revert back to 2.2 and then be able to root? I know that root is not possible in 2.3.4. If it is possible, how do I do it?09-07-2011 03:57 PMLike 0

I ended up with an "update" file (no file extension) & HBOOT froze.
Got it loading now, though. w00t!09-07-2011 05:09 PMLike 0 - The instructions are essentially the same for MAC, There is MD5 software for the MAC listed to check the download. Use the Apple Disk Utility to look at the Disk Format properties and to Format as FAT32 if necessary.
Hope this helps.09-07-2011 05:24 PMLike 0 -
Make sure you have the correct download. The full file name is listed in the Directions post on the first page.
SD Card is FAT32
The MD5 for the download matches the MD5 posted in the Instructions post
That the file name on your SD Card is update.zip; not update, update.zip.zip or any other variant. (You can boot your phone normally and use any file manager to look at the SD card)
If one of these things is not correct it will not work. This procedure works. It's been done by me personally several times today, and many others here have gotten it to work as well.
Be patient in HBOOT, it takes time for the process to read the card and find the file. The bigger your card/more stuff you have on it, the longer it will take.09-07-2011 05:34 PMLike 0 -

and the EVO, though very similar to the DInc has different hardware and incompatible kernels. If it was the EVO flash (which was done ages ago) it would not work at all.09-07-2011 05:53 PMLike 0 -

Except, well . . . after seeing Gingerbread on the DInc2, I'm very disappointed that the only visual improvement seems to be the flip clock that actually flips now. hehe
The notification pane doesn't have any of the goodies found on the DInc2 or other phones. Why?09-07-2011 05:58 PMLike 0 -

- Root is not a folder. If your SD card is named "F", root would be at F:\
Do not put the update.zip file in a folder.PvilleComp likes this.09-07-2011 07:13 PMLike 1 -
