Is there anyway beside doing it separately for every single email account to shutoff all email notifications but keep the phone ringer on? I do not think the Android OS has this capability. (Which is shocking to me.) I do see a couple of apps available, but none of these have worked as described. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Settings -> Sound & Display -> Ringer Volume -> Uncheck the Use incoming call volume for notifications - it will then give you a separate slider for notification volume
