When the Storm came out I went and got it on release day - big mistake. So slow and bugs that I returned it a week later and went to a Curve. BB Tour same thing I went through five of them before I got a good one and even now that good one is starting to fall apart.

So I learned my lesson and I scope out the forums every day to find out if I should still go for the Incredible or if there are too many issues with it. I am thinking about holding off for the LG Ally (I have to stay on Verizon unless maybe go to TMobile My Slide 3G? never ATT or Sprint) or something with a keyboard?

I see battery issues which I dealt with on my Eris before I got the 1750mAH battery which I'm going to use with the Incredible if I Get one.

So you've had your Incredible for a little over a week what would you tell a prospective buyer?

Buy it. It is an amazing phone, and I agree with NV2ND, get yourself the extended battery and you'll be happy with it.

Get it. Order your extended battery the same day, and be happy.

He already has one.

Best advice would be to try it out. If you had the Eris you have a rough idea of what the phone does and how it operates.
What people consider bugs at this point is user error really.
-Profiles
-Notifications
-Email
-Widgets and task killers
-Alarms and task killers
ect.

No real bugs that I have caught at this point. Every OS is different and if one does not offer something that your old one did. That is not a bug.

So walk into VZW test it out and see if its for you. The phone has no bugs at this point.

Without a doubt I highly recommend the phone.

See my avatar and you'll know where I'm coming from.

I won't count the battery as a problem as I've accepted the fact that - just like with my old Palm devices - one just has to factor in the cost of an extended battery when buying this device.

The worst problem I noticed - until about 3 days ago - are the automatic screen changes; the phone would flip on its own from one home screen to others. Sometimes, the phone would also highlight items in a list of possible choices on its own - flipping from one selection to another. For whatever reason, though, I haven't been able to recreate this in the usual fashion for a few days now. (Maybe the update last week included a fix for this?)

Despite these issues - I would still go back and buy another Incredible. The phone has capabilities that my other phones could only dream of.

This is the most amazing phone I've ever had. Every day I'm discovering new things that enhance my user experience. I've downloaded many applications, most of which are very useful and a few that I've already deleted because I found a better version by another developer.

One could literally spend all day on this phone with all the possible things that can be done with it...from reading my Bible to playing chess to browsing facebook and my photo albums to taking high-quality videos and photographs and everything in-between.

Good job, HTC.

And yeah, I'm waiting for my extended-life battery to arrive from Seido, or whatever their name is....:D

I would also like a better facebook app, but I'm sure it's coming soon. Otherwise this is a terrific phone in every regard.

I would say buy it. However, if I owned an Eris already, I would go into a store and play with one first. Mainly to see if its worth upgrading from the Eris to the Incredible.

I only say this because after Storm2 came out, I did this very thing. Turned out that it just didn't seem worth it to me to get a Storm2, so i didn't. Now I have this, and I'm glad I waited for it.

I know something else will come out better soon enough, and my contract date won't come soon enough...for now though, this suffices just fine. :)

definitely get this. the sync feature for gmail (along with push) is awesome. blackberry has promised a 2-way sync for gmail since march and has yet to come up with it. its much easier to keep emails organized since there is a 2-way sync on the incredible along with push email.

I would recommend this phone to anyone, its a great phone. I had the Moto Droid prior and had no problems with it except the size and the physical keyboard. The Incredible is the perfect phone for me and many others :)

I've had and have used a couple of smart phones in the past, iphone, omnia, storm etc.... this is by far the best phone that i have owned. I'm not an expert on phones but just an everyday guy that likes a really nice phone. So far the best for me.

As a former BB user (Storm 1), I was reluctant to move to another touch-screen-only phone.

I'm also not usually an early adopter (I got the S1 four months after release).

That said, I was set to get the Moto Droid on April 28th after playing with it in store for about 30 minutes. The sales guys recommended I wait for the DI. They had a live one in store, and after 5 minutes with it, I couldn't believe the difference. Went back on the 29th (release day) and I haven't had a single regret.

I've owned just about every smartphone ever made, and I can say without a doubt that this is the best one I've ever had the pleasure of using.

You might want to check out the review thread I started several weeks back.

Best phone I've ever owned. The only "bug" that I encountered was caused by an application I had loaded on my phone. Un-installed it and the phone worked flawlessly again.

So does Inc run all of your Moto Droid apps? If not, which did not work?

Buy now. I had an Eris on the 2.1v3 leak, good phone, but the speed and snappiness of the Inc blows it away. The processor is magic, and the screen, UI and ability to customize make it if not the best smartphone available, at least it's in the conversation.
