Gmail not syncing properly?

So I've been messing around with my Gmail, and noticed that recently it doesn't seem to be doing 2-way sync. If I mark something read on my phone, it'll be marked unread on my computer as well just fine. However, if I mark something read on my computer, it stays unread on my phone unless I do a manual sync. Is this a common problem? How often does the automatic sync work?

Nevermind, seems to be working... just taking a little bit. No worries.

My first two emails didn't show up till about 7:30 this morning. One was stamped at 6:34 am and the other at 1:30 am. Maybe goog is having a slow day..
