cant receive text messages

So my phone has a few problems the most current one is that i cant receive text messages, I can send them out and make and receive calls but no incoming text. My other problem I have is that I keep getting the memory full icon when my phone has plenty of memory. My phone has the 2.3.4 update and every once in awhile I keep getting the system update prompt but when I chose to "install now" it says it will reboot but nothing happens.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated , I really dont want to deal with tech support over the phone from what I have read they are pretty clueless

First thing to do is clear out as many text messages as you can. Also clear cache in all your apps, that should free up your memory and you should start getting text's again.

The memory full issue was pretty common when the phone went to Gingerbread (2.3). Search here and xda for the fix.

I will add that my wife's DInc was never as good on stock gingerbread as it was on stock froyo (2.2).
